While practicing as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, Alex pursued her Master’s in Counseling, graduating in 2020. Alex co-founded and has owned Hanan Counseling since 2022, with the vision of creating a safe and supportive space where individuals can experience compassionate transformation through counseling. Alex enjoys working with clients in the areas of trauma, anxiety, adjustment, depression, life and behavioral challenges. Alex believes in using a collaboration of Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT and Solution-Focused therapy from a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach as she works closely with each client to find the best treatment for their unique circumstance. Alex is also trained in Brain-spotting as an additional trauma-informed therapy. Alex sees individuals of all ages and stages- children, teens, and adults. Alex also enjoys seeing couples and families. She is passionate about walking alongside individuals as they pursue healing, growth, and wholeness. Storey works with clients across all ages and stages of life — including children, teens, and adults — using a compassionate, mindful, trauma-informed approach that addresses both the mind and body. Her therapeutic style integrates techniques and concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Child-Centered Play Therapy. Storey also enjoys working with couples and has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, which she integrates with principles from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Storey has experience supporting clients navigating depression, anxiety, and OCD, as well as challenges related to life transitions, relationships, parenting, and neurodivergence.
